Towards the end

With only little over three weeks to go before I am flying out of Windhoek back to Amsterdam, my year here is coming to an end. I can’t believe it has been almost a year already, time seems to have passed by so fast! But looking back on my time here, I feel like we [...]

It has been way too long since the last post, so here is an overview of what has been going on.
First a little update about the projects I am currently working on:
The Valombola Kindergarden

With the kindergarden things are going much better than last year. We have started teaching phonetics & the children are really starting [...]

Printers In Windhoek

I have just been to the printers in Windhoek - I’m actually still in Windhoek now - and we have just witnessed the new Buchter getting born. I must say that I’m quite pleased with it, although not all the colours etc. where quite right yet.

Update from the -now- sunny Lüderitz

Namibia is advertised as “Namibia, land of sunshine, spaces and smiles”. Spaces & Smiles were already here - although the spaces are more obvious than the smiles I must say. But now with the summer setting in, I finally realize the sunshine bit.
Although It has not rained since we have got here. It has been [...]

Out of Lüderitz for a change

Today I was called by Brightstart - the local montessori school - asking me to join them on a farmer/adventure camp next Friday. Of course I have to grab this great opportunity to leave the little town of Lüderitz behind for a while and so I replied yes.
So next Friday I’ll travel to Aus (about [...]

An update on my life

So what’s going on in my life? Well let’s start off with: everything happening happens on Africa time - which basically means I’m taking things slow.
Yesterday night we went to barrels - the German bar - for a couple of drinks in honour of the American Peace Corps volunteers who headed of the Mariental for [...]
