Update from the -now- sunny Lüderitz

Namibia is advertised as “Namibia, land of sunshine, spaces and smiles”. Spaces & Smiles were already here - although the spaces are more obvious than the smiles I must say. But now with the summer setting in, I finally realize the sunshine bit.

Although It has not rained since we have got here. It has been mild weather, with cold nights. None of that is here anymore. During the day it easily becomes 30 degrees here on the coast and about an hour land inward 35, 40 degrees is no exception. Even the nights are mild to warm now. It’s nice in most cases, except for the walking back from the creche.

So since my last blog not much has changed. We have ADSL internet now, which is nice cause I can listen to the dutch radio over the internet and I can easily Skype with my parents and girlfriend. I have also met the local webdeveloper, although not much is really settled at the moment there is a possibility I will help him with his work.

Brandy is slowly but surely picking up the basic commands, although she still does the occasional pee & poo inside - something which I’m not to happy with.

My good friend Tobias has send me an HDR picture program. This is the outcome of my first tries:

The new Buchter being print at this very moment, and I am certain the outcome will be much better than the first one. So I can’t wait to get it back from the printers.

Because of the posting problems we have decided to make a web page for the Buchter News as well. This will contain all the stories the original we write for the original Buchter. At the moment the design is already finished and revised and it’s just a matter of sorting out paying problems. I’m trying to integrate a way of paying by credit card into the website.

That’s all for now! Cheers,

Hidde
