An update on my life

So what’s going on in my life? Well let’s start off with: everything happening happens on Africa time - which basically means I’m taking things slow.

Yesterday night we went to barrels - the German bar - for a couple of drinks in honour of the American Peace Corps volunteers who headed of the Mariental for the weekend. It was quite an experience I must say. Today is pay day in Namibia, which basically means that everybody was drunk out of their minds yesterday. It was fun though I had a good talk with some Afrikaans guys and they where a lot more relaxed than the last time we saw them - on the house party.

This morning I went to the Volambola Creche briefly and did some maths with the kids and lots of singing, and they just love singing! It was one of the first times I actually had great fun being there.

Tonight we’ll have an quite night, and we’ll try to rent Madagascar from the local DVD rental. Should be fun - Madagascar always is.

This morning I got some disturbing news as well, apparently a tourist got robbed just outside of our house. A bit of a disturbing fact - but than again if you walk alone, at 3 a.m., you’re a tourist, and you do this all in Lüderitz (or most of Namibia for that matter) you’re just basically shouting: ROB ME, ROB ME PLEASE.

Oh yeah and the Buchter News has now officially reached the printer in Oranjemundt and it’s just a matter of days before we get the actual copies back - I can’t wait!

Lieve Hidde,
Wat een verhalen uit Namibie en Los Angeles. Het wordt met de dag spannender. Je praat al een aardig mondje zuis afrikaans. Hesitate is met een e by the way. Goed dat zingen, wat zullen de kinderen dat heerlijk vinden.Hoe gaat het met je gitaarbegeleiding? En hoe is het met Brandy, is ze al zindelijk?
We wachten weer op antwoord van je, echt leuk dat blogje. Karin Luymes had van Clint niet over je blog gehoord, ik zal haar nog even mailen hoe ze het kan lezen.
